Seeking out help can be difficult and can commonly come with a lot of questions.
Here are some common questions that our clients have come in with:
What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is profession with its own unique scope of practice within the healthcare system. We examine, diagnose, and manage a variety of cases ranging from low back pain to headaches to nerve entrapment and more (more information on symptoms in the header). It is within our scope to perform many different interventions as deemed appropriate for each individual’s conditions.
do I need an exam?
Yes, it is vital that we perform an exam on each client. This typically takes place on the first visit and includes an in-depth history taking, brief physical exam, and an orthopedic exam on your complaint (more information on what to expect in the header). It is a necessity to perform an exam if we are to properly diagnose and rule-out any indications or underlying conditions.
Are chiropractors Real doctors?
Chiropractors in the United States hold a doctorate level degree in the same way that many other healthcare clinicians do (physical therapists, pharmacists, psychiatrists, etc.). So yes, we are real doctors.
Do we need to take any x-rays?
It depends on your case. Typically, the need for further tests, such as x-rays, is determined during the initial exam. It is not a bad idea to bring previous x-rays if you have them, but we will have a much better idea after your examination. X-rays are used in the diagnosing process and are tools to guide care plans.
How long is it going to take?
It is impossible to gauge progression without a proper examination and trial of care. Most cases see improvement within the first 2 weeks, but every case is different. Our goal is to create the longest lasting effects in the shortest amount of time. This requires compliance on both the patient and doctor ends.
Will I have to come in forevert?
No, you will not have to come in forever. Our care plans are catered to short-term and long-term goals. These goals are set within the first visits and cooperative plans are created to meet those goals. Recommendations are made based off of each client’s goals.
Do I need insurance?
Nope! We set our rates to be accessible and available to all. We want to work with those who are passionate about getting better, especially if finances may be a barrier. That being said, we do accept FSA/HSA funds and can generate superbills for PPO insurance reimbursement.
